amaxa23 @mjgunnells Good morning! Shorts arrived today, and it was pretty quick! I do have a concern, though. The shorts have a very strong scent (maybe patchouli?) that comes off on my hands and permeates the room. I’m sensitive to scents, and concerned about washing them due to it spreading to other clothes. Could I pay for the return shipping cost and send them back to you? I’m happy to package them and ship them back ASAP if I could get a refund of the cost of the shorts only.

mjgunnells @amaxa23 oh I know exactly what that is. I use this detergent called Deva Wash before I shipped them. and I will admit it is pretty strong I am just so used to the scent. I heard some people are sensitive to that brand. I am so sorry I should have washed them in gain detergent or something. But I will say that it is safe to wash them with other clothes and it should get the smell out. But if you are not satisfied I will be happy to return them:( I’m so sorry!

amaxa23 @mjgunnells no worries! As long as the scent should come out, I’ll throw them in the wash right away. I just didn’t want to do that if it wasn’t likely to change. Thanks SOOO much for the quick reply!

mjgunnells @amaxa23 no problem! I would recommend washing them alone without any other clothes at the same time! Do you think it was my detergent that was the smell? Bc I washed them before I put them in the mail. I wonder if going through the mailing process made them have a different smell

amaxa23 @mjgunnells no worries. It’s definitely a patchouli scent, so likely the wash. It’s not a funky/bad smell. Should be ok w a good wash if you think it will come out.

amaxa23 @mjgunnells I’ve washed them 3 different times (air dry only), and the scent is still very strong. I can’t wear them myself. Is there a better way through Poshmark to facilitate a return or communicate with you to get this resolved? I don’t know if these comments are posted anywhere public. I’ve never had to send anything back or request a refund.

So sorry to hear about the shorts… let me talk to my mom to see what she thinks you can do to get the smell out bc honestly Ive barely worn those shorts (maybe 3 times) and there’s no way that there should be a scent that strong. I’ve never had this problem with my clothes being a weird smell like this!! But let me get back with you in a couple of hours!

mjgunnells I have been researching what to do about this issue. At this time unfortunately since you accepted the order there is no way we can do a safe return. The only option is for you to reposh them on your own account and try to sell them for what you paid. I am really sorry about your experience. I hope you understand why I can’t accept a return because there is no safe way since Poshmark can’t resolve the issue

amaxa23 @mjgunnells Well, that’s a bummer. I trusted that washing would solve the scent issue. Lesson learned to never accept an order until it’s 100% certain, even though I felt bad waiting to release the payment until after washing, since I figured that would fix it. I appreciate your replies, though, and thanks for being polite. I’d feel bad RePoshing them since the scent is so strong, so I’ll just give them away.
