Millions of Americans who use apps like Poshmark to sell things around their house, will be surprised to learn that in early 2023 these transactions will be reported to the IRS, thanks to a new law passed by Congress in 2021. Even those selling used goods and who should owe no taxes will have those sales reported to the IRS and get a confusing tax form (which in many cases result in an unfair overpayment of taxes to the IRS.)
