Hi! I'm Amber, a home-based, freelance magazine designer. My story: I live in Ontario, Canada near the Niagara Falls, NY border but am originally from the beautiful state of Virginia. I met my husband in 2000 while vacationing in Australia and we were engaged weeks later—the best whirlwind decision I've ever made! Our cuddly Chinese crested dogs complete our small family. I fly back to VA every 6 weeks to care for my mother who lives in an assisted living facility with vascular dementia.

I have heard there is a way on your iphone to do it...and there are apps that can help (i've seen some youtube videos that talk about white background apps for poshmark photos -- they should help you get started). Welcome to Poshmark and enjoy the time you have left in Philly -- not that you really have any spare time with triplets ;)

whippyglitz @dkayscloset Thank you! My background is off-white (just because that is all I have) and then I transfer my photos to my computer and use Photoshop to make the backgrounds all white. I tried phone apps but the item's became to saturated when I did the adjustments so this is the system that works for me. I did see a youtube video about Snapseed -- phone app for white backgrounds. Maybe see if that will help you!

whippyglitz @sweetmommajan Hi! Thank you!!! Actually I am a baby too! I joined Oct 12, 2018 so I'm still learning too. There is no secret way to load by color ... I have to do it manually which makes it hard to share during themed parties But I like how it views so I continue my madness! :) As for what to do on Poshmark, I have been watching a lot of youtube videos. They provide incredible insight as to how the platform works and provide tips on how to run your closet more successfully. Check those out!

whippyglitz @karenvesmith Thank you for the pat on the back Karen! Yes, I've been sharing and following my bum off (...if only that could literally happen....). Next March I may need to start helping my Mother afford her assisted living facility instead of moving her into a nursing home. I found Posh and it's been a wonderful experience so far - particularly the people! I plan to keep on working in overdrive until my fingers fall off in hopes it works out the way I need it to by March. Thanks again!

whippyglitz @karenvesmith Sure! First, I am a graphic designer and I design magazines—that may explain a lot! I use my iphone to take the pics (with a white blanket behind my mannequin...that tilts..) then transfer my pics to my Mac and use Photoshop to make it pure white (and to straighten it back up). I have a small light box for little items so no Photoshop needed for those. And I don't have studio light boxes: I set up by a window for now. Probably not helpful, but that's the reality of my process.

whippyglitz @merdalonka HI! There is no locking unfortunately. When you share your item or do a public price drop your closet will place that item at the top. So you have to share and price drop in the order of your closet once it's arranged. If there is a party you want to share to you have to share all the items before it (at the bottom of your closet) in order until you get to the item you want to share to the party....

whippyglitz @merdalonka the only time you can share and not have your closet rearranged is when you do a price drop to likers....then that item will stay in its place. Visitors clicking and looking will not rearrange it -- it is your sharing and public price dropping that will rearrange it. It's very tricky. Ive had things get out of order and have to share my whole closet again to get it back in order. A lot of work, but I like it so I do it! I hope that helps! :)

whippyglitz @marycox1218 I snap photos on my Iphone and then bring them over to my computer and use my graphic design software. I'm a designer in the magazine business and do it all the time for layouts so I have an advantage in that respect. But i firmly believe that as long as photos are done tastefully and in good lighting then anything can sell -- white background or not! Hope you have an AWESOME selling day today!!!!

You have nice photos but there are 2 things that pop out to me that may help. #1: Your titles - Add more details so when people search they will be able to find your item. Like "Kenneth Cole Cream Wool Pea Coat 2" ... or something like that. What would people type in to find your item? Those are the words/terms you need to include......

I am a magazine designer so I've worked with Photoshop for over 20 years on a daily basis so it's easier for me to do it that way. I took a whirl around your closet -- love your variety! dinapier @whippyglitz Question. I’m sort of new to Poshmark. Doesn’t the order of your items mess up if you share to a Posh party or when you add new items? I only use my phone on Poshmark. Maybe you have more control of your closet using the computer?

whippyglitz @dinapier Yes it will mess it up and, no, sharing works the same on a phone and computer. I have to share my entire closet in this order to get items into parties and keep them in color-order in my closet. Not ideal, but the silver lining is that it makes me share my items more that I probably would if I didn't have to do it this way. And yes, I screw it up all the time LOL!
