Hi! I'm Amy. I bought my first pair of Dr Martens boots in the 1990s and have been wearing them ever since. As my collection has grown I realized that I’m going to have to sell some boots if I want to make room for new, or new to me, vintage styles. I was just looking for boots in my size (UK5) to start, but I ended up gaining confidence in my ability to restore vintage leather and started finding other sizes too. I love to create custom color docs for myself and for family and friends and occasionally I’ll post a pair of those here too, so keep an eye out. I clean, moisturize, and polish as needed and wash or replace laces for every vintage pair prior to photographing. I do professionally refinish the surface of the leather sometimes when there are visible scuffs or scratches and never try to hide any blemishes with shoe polish. All boots are carefully wrapped and shipped in a sturdy box. Listings that specify that the original box is included will be double boxed. Please feel free to ask questions! amybasil I tend to obsess over the chunky vintage MIE platform styles, similar to the crazy bombs. (I’m 5’2” so a few extra inches never hurts!) I’ve seen a pair with a pocket on the side once or twice but they’re pricey. I love unique colors and studs and spikes and have a few pairs with cool details already, but I still want all the studded boots and anything with cool hardware.

dark_out_here @amybasil I feel like you'd be into the Izzue collab boot from about 10 years ago that has the attached studded straps. I sold a pair several years ago, but they were quite cool. I'm not really looking for anything 😅 I was thinking of getting the kinda reboot of these that were just released, but I like this older version better and was lucky to see your listing!

dark_out_here @amybasil just wanted to check-- did you condition or wax the toes of the boots a bit? they are shinier than the rest of the boots and I just want to make sure I know what's on there for future cleaning/ care. thanks!

amybasil @dark_out_here I believe I put black wax shoe polish to protect the toes from scuffs at some point in the past. Before I listed them I wiped them down to remove dust and conditioned with wonder balsam.

amybasil @dark_out_here the wax polish usually comes off pretty easily with rubbing alcohol, but you have to be careful not to remove the the top layers of finish from the leather.

amybasil @cutehosiery Thank you! The sharing part is something I probably haven’t paid enough attention to. I cross post, so I’ve been feeling each platform out and it seems like Posh is unique with the sharing and the ambassador stuff. I should really look at it more. At this point I’m in between hobby and small business, so I still spend a lot of time working on my day job. I really do appreciate the feedback!

raelinjack @amybasil hey! Also a doc collector here. I see you mentioned the vintage boots with the pocket… I just saw a pair (in our size) on the M app. Not a horrible price either! They’d already be coming home with me, but they are brown and I’m not a fan of brown. Check them out! :)

amybasil @meeshmash88 Hi Meesh! Nice to meet you. I understand it stinks when you see that a pair of boots were marked down on the website and they’re selling for much higher somewhere else. These boots were originally $250. Doc Martens will usually put whatever sizes they have left over from a limited edition style on clearance, but it doesn’t necessarily mean your size was ever available at that price.

amybasil @meeshmash88 I generally check to see what similar boots have sold for to determine pricing, but I do drop prices as time goes on if they don’t sell. I put a lot of work into cleaning, conditioning, photography etc so that every pair of boots is as perfect as it can be, so I do try to make a little money back for my time. I also have to buy supplies to do this, and Posh also takes 20% from every purchase.

baglady386 Hey there. I just had to stop by and tell you how amazingly gorgeous your closet is. I want every pair of boots you have. Looking desperately for a pair of size 8 taller under the knees or over the knee black boots. Any brand that would look great with a dress. Maybe suede, leather , I don’t care. I know you’ll be able to steer me in the best direction.
