andrews777 Smell really does vary by individual. Vintage bags will have some odor & charcoal pouches can be purchased on Amazon that reduce any odor considerably, to check this online just google charcoal pouches to reduce odor in vintage bags. We did not detect a heavy odor on this bag & it did pass through the authenticators with no issues. We apologize for any inconvenience. The bag is nice & an Alma with an original LV leather strap is hard to come by. The bag will air out with use.
