convintageous Hi again Angela, I did respond under the listing Re: your ? about the size. Another way to double check is by looking at any shoes you may already have that are EU sizes. If you have a pair that fits you well that’s either a 38 or 39, that could also help you decide 🙂

angelacwester @convintageous Thank you and I understand as I live in Istanbul and we buy European sizes. Brands can vary and I have shoes from 38, 38.5, and 39. I have even bought 40 once or twice. I have often wandered how this variance happens.

convintageous @angelacwester I don’t think there’s any rhyme or reason, perhaps with the leather soles they don’t count for possible shrinkage in the drying process. Also, as I believe these are made in Romania, they are likely sewn by hand as in many manufactured in India. That would certainly account for the slight differences

angelacwester After living abroad for 12 years in a production and manufacturing country I came to learn this US decision is simply a business move that creates a much higher profit margin. Some Free People products are made in turkey where the government sets the minimum wage at 2500 lira which is about 297 dollars a month. Bosnia is even more compromised. Nonetheless reselling and recycling are good moves for us all. I really like the sandals but I suppose I try them on.

angelacwester Yes there is an entire textile district and many street markets where I have seen and bought nice brands made by URBN which makes the brand an others. The brand is not widely known there except for the upscale shops and with wealthier people.
