My vintage expert friend tells me it’s due to the piece being stored with buttons closed, and, over time, they loosen cause these buttons are heavy ( for buttons). I can...

@ameman1129 PS: the tailor didn’t think the buttons needed to be tightened. I showed him that they’re loose. He saw that & wanted to do only the bottom two! I asked him to tighten all of them a bit. 🙄
