gladrags99 @lonestarry yes it is wrinkly when empty as is thin leather to accommodate the metallic copper color. I used it to tote clothes and once you put things in it is less wrinkled....however it is not perfectly smooth due to the design and texture. So if you want perfectly smooth, no. Much less wrinkly with a load, yes. Hope that helps. Thx for asking Gladrags99
