We love old estates , mansions , and chateaus. And formal gardens .,We are avid antique and art collectors so we love going there to see all the beautiful antiques and art and history. Never had any interest in the mountains. What's great about San Diego is we can go surfing and skiing in one day when we have snow. Haven't done that personally but I know several people who have. The difference in greenery is no contest to the Carolinas. I absolutely fell in love last year while visiting. The old farm houses and antiques are so awesome out there!!
