rjrkbythebay @azpicker have you gotten a host pick yet since starting on Poshmark? I love to recommend new sellers for host picks when they have a nice closet and haven't yet been chosen. As long as your closet remains Poshmark compliant (I can see others have posted the rules for you) you are a good candidate! Rachel

rjrkbythebay @azpicker OK, The quick version is there are three parties a day and the hosts of each party get to choose items from any closet they like. They are promoting these chosen items and the sellers. When you get chosen, other sellers share your stuff with their followers (some sellers have 200,000+ followers) and gives you greater visibility.

rjrkbythebay @azpicker every time an item of mine has been chosen for HP, my sales go up and my number of followers goes up too. More followers equals more sales. You get chosen either by someone recommending you or buy you promoting your self on the hosts page. When I see new sellers that have nice closet I like to recommend them for host picks when their closets are posh compliant.

rjrkbythebay @azpicker yes! Exactly! After each time one of my items is chosen I'll update the listing to add host pick either to the title or the description or both. I think the host by sharing from her closet. Anyone who writes on the listing congratulations or whatever I shared from their closet as well. The more people that stop by to say congrats means the more time it takes to return shares. It is a lot of work but well worth it!

rjrkbythebay @azpicker if you have some friends with really high numbers of followers they're the ones you should try to share the most with. You get a lot more bang for your buck that way :-) but I know what you mean! I set limits for myself so I don't overdo it. I've only been selling for two months and I try to stick to 1-2 hours/day max spent on Poshmark. In that timeframe I have sold more than 60 items so not a bad start.

rjrkbythebay @azpicker I had the most amazing mentor who got me started the right way. Other little things I do: right before I list something I search for similar items and friend/follow all of those who liked it. That way one of the first things they see when they add you is something they already like. Also add a bunch of people who follow the brands you sell. Same concept.

rjrkbythebay @azpicker are you doing your sharing on a laptop or on your phone? Mass sharing is much faster on the laptop. Especially if you do share groups (another fantastic way to get things sold). If you need a share group I have a good one I do on Sunday nights. Many members with high numbers of followers.

cajt62 @azpicker my husband is from Oklahoma and he didn't much like Arizona. Between the heat and the lack of good hunting. He tolerated it for a about 12 years. All of our kids and grandkids are here. Oklahoma has its pros and cons but I mostly am happy here because of all the kids being here. He loves it here because the hunting and fishing is alot better, lol. The heat can get very old after awhile in AZ, but the winters are pretty awesome!

cajt62 @azpicker Posh is way busier than when I first started. Once they included men's and kids people started joining right and left! Do me that has its pros and cons. Basically there were a lot more scammers that showed up with that change and then there are more sellers than buyers now. But I think it is getting better, things may be evening out a little bit. So yeah it can get very busy.

cajt62 @azpicker I have never been to Idaho but I know it's a lot mellower than AZ. When I go back there now, I can't believe I tolerated the traffic when I lived there. My husband rode 50 miles to work on his Harley and it became very difficult to enjoy the ride bc of all the crazy traffic and drivers. It actually scared me to death sometimes on the bike on the freeway. And I was raised in that mess. Lol

cajt62 @azpicker that is no joke! You are so right. That's actually why he had to give up his last bike, he worked so many hours and his bike was his sole trans but he didn't have time to work on it. I think it was shortly after some old man backed out of a parking space, hit my husband, and drove off. He had no idea he even hit my husband. It cracked the frame and so he needed to have a reliable vehicle to get back and forth. Which was an old econo van for a little bit, lol.

azpicker @cajt62 oh wow! The a/c would be nice. My girlfriend and I had a tacoma and corolla. And some lady was stopped in the HOV and totalling our corolla. And said she wasn't stopped so they said it was our fault. Ended up buying a bike and she drives the truck. I miss the A/C for sure. I will add you and if it gets too overwhelming you can just ask me to take you off of my list, I will totally understand, trust me. I do send out quite a few but I try to do it at night when not much is going on. That way people aren't receiving them during parties or at busy times.

rjrkbythebay @azpicker Another tip for you to try - find an item similar to one of yours through the search tool. Narrow your search for "sold". If anyone had "liked" the sold item, add them as a follower and share one or two of their items to prompt them to look at your site. Repeat for each item listed. 😉 Rachel

azpicker @rjrkpt yes up late! i am a night owl, plus that is the only time i can catch up without more flooding in. if i catch up during the day, i look up in 5 minutes and i have another 30 notifications -_- yes i use laptop, way faster. i actually stop watched it lol! takes like 20 seconds to view someones pages and share 4 things. compared to like 6 seconds on laptop ;)

rjrkbythebay @azpicker I agree about night time being more productive (I'm a night owl too...). Glad you started using the laptop. Saves tons of time. Next suggestion for you to grow your followers faster (tell me if you get tired of my tips HAHA) Add Suggested users daily from the feed (multiple times a day if you have the time) and share 1 or 2 of their items. The SU List is updated hourly so you literally could add new ones every hour if you had no life LOL. Let me know if you have any trouble finding it.

It can take several months to process and as long as you have been on Poshmark three months, have satisfactory sales transactions, and have a Poshmark compliant closet you are eligible. 😀 I just picked it up and you get a big boost in followers! 👫👫👫👫👫Rachel

rjrkbythebay @azpicker Give me a little bit, I'll find the link for you. OMG today new followers are pouring in 1 per second (I am totally serious). I started the day with 12K followers...it is now almost 16K and doesn't seem to be letting up. Impossible to keep up with my feed while answering questions about my listings (I've gotten 10 questions in the past 1.5 hrs!!) and responding to Congrats from my HP's today, and *trying* to complete Vintage share groups. Holy cow! Whew!

rjrkbythebay I figured it out! I was a "featured suggested user" tonight.OK, here's the SU rules: Poshmark Compliant Closet, No offline transactions, 3+ successful transactions completed, Posh member for 3 months or more, Have at least 25 listings. Once you meet the criteria e-mail Poshmark via the app (Support Center - type in becoming a Suggested User and it will bring you to the form). By 1 AM, I had 16,075 followers. > a 4000 follower increase so I would say it is WELL worth pursuing! :-) Rachel

rjrkbythebay @azpicker Natural light is the best, but sometimes there just isn't enough of it! Try using an LED flashlight to add some light to the area you take pictures. Take a variety of pictures with the light shining in different directions and see what gives the best look while maintaining the proper color of your item. LED light tends to change the color the least while getting excellent brightness.

azpicker @rjrkpt yeah that's what I do! Takes like 30 minutes to get a decent shot. That's why I keep putting it off lol 😂
