Meet your Posher, Brooke

Hi! I'm Brooke. I am just a med student trying to survive. 🩺 Sappy alert. When I started my clinical year, I was the heaviest I ever have been. For too long I was wearing poorly fitting clothing that often didn't match as a way to punish myself and deny my chub. So when it came time to rejoin the working world where everyday I am being evaluated, I wanted to give off confidence. To do this I needed to change my body negativity to body positivity and not let my weight define my self worth or the value I bring to my health care team and patients. I decided to buy clothes that fit me for who I was then, not what I wanted to be. I chose to love my body and wear clothes that appreciated my curves. Loving my body meant feeding it plants instead of junk, and getting my heart rate up Since then, I have been shedding pounds while gaining knowledge. I honestly believe that this transformation started because I chose to buy nice clothes that fit me, instead of buying cheap imitations with the damaging mindset that I only deserve nice clothes when I become "skinny".
