rosebasket346 Hi! I bought the Apple Watch and it’s perfect, except it says it’s currently tied to an Apple account. So it has to be deactivated before I can pair it with my phone and use it at all.

rosebasket346 These are the steps I found online. 1. On computer go to iCloud and Sign In with Apple account. 2. Go to find my iPhone. 3. Select all devices, then click the Apple Watch. 4. Click erase Apple Watch. Select next until devise is erased. 5. Click the remove “x” button next to your Apple Watch.

nativecloth @krosebly I know but I deleted from my account after I saw your first message, so I don’t think I’m able to clear it now. I think you’ll have to do a factory reset on the watch.

rosebasket346 It still shows part of your email and says it’s tied to your Apple account. Also I couldn’t use your temp password without your email address.

nativecloth @krosebly ok thank you. I’m so sorry about all of this. I sincerely thought I had disconnected it from iCloud and cleared it properly. I promise I’ll make this right though. Even if I have to call Apple.

rosebasket346 I went to Best Buy and they couldn’t do anything, so I did an Apple chat support for 40 mins. And then ended up saying I need to contact the owner and tell them to deactivate it. I told them we’ve already tried! So, maybe if you contact Apple tomorrow. Otherwise, I guess I’ll just have to send it back to you. I’ve never returned anything on poshmark. And I really want to keep it! But it won’t even show the time or anything until it’s able to pair with my phone. 😔

rosebasket346 Ok, so here’s an update: I called Apple and spoke with a person and they cannot unlock it remotely! I’ve even provided my proof of purchase!! ...They said you have to go to your iCloud account and go to find my iPhone and click on Apple Watch. Maybe you go to Best Buy or call Apple and they can help you. If it’s deleted completely then maybe Apple will help clear it!!! I asked if I could drive to an Apple store and they said they still wouldn’t be able to remove the activation lock.

nativecloth @krosebly oh jeez. I’ll be home in the next hour and will work on this then. I think with the serial number I can add it back to my account and then clear it off. I’ll keep you posted. Again, so sorry for the frustration

nativecloth @krosebly ok so I’ve clicked the erase button after going to find my iPhone. It says that it will erase the Apple Watch once it’s connected to the internet. Can you try to connect it?

nativecloth @krosebly just got off the phone with Apple. It’s been removed form my account and the rep said to turn the watch off and then on and you should be able to pair it to your account.
