carrie_yanes @mamacocolilo Spain- but like over 100 years ago. It’s an ancient name, origins from the Roman Deity Janus, to which we get January. 💫

mamacocolilo Wow, I wasn't aware. Thank u for that. Ive always heard rumors that our last name was Basque (rebels from northern Spain and Northern France). Basically that it was another variation of "Johnson". And basically is ur last name ended with "es" u were of Christian ancestry, and if it ended with "ez" u were of Jewish ancestry (born and raised catholic tho, go figure🤷‍♀️). I think that the first person to spot America on Columbus' voyage was a "Yanez" but dont quote me. 😉
