Yeah it’s really crazy, if you’re buying under $500 for Chanel you have to be extremely careful - I can say with confidence that about 80% of bags in that price range is fake! If it’s within your budget, for Chanel, it’s really recommended to buy from $500 on since then they get authenticated for free by posh anyway so no danger of being scammed...

charlink @elisabetap24 you’re very welcome! Unfortunately many of the Louboutin’s on poshmark below $500 are fake eventhough it is not allowed. Poshmark only gives a guarantee above $500 so you’re always at risk if you buy below that price... it is good to have everything third party authenticated if you’re not sure. I personally use ‘Real Authentication’. Good luck!

charlink @nicoleohi that’s crazy! Yeah the date code and stamp are off but this is the first time seeing fake NM receipts 😅😅 still trying to figure out what kind of scam she’s trying to pull off! I also saw her on another platform with a Gabrielle, also fake but with the NM receipts and selling at $1800 😳🙄

nicoleohi @gg71 I know right! One of my LV bag’s was taken down too! I think for a new posher, you are allowed to list any nonsense until it’s flagged and then you won’t be able to list more! My problem is how long it takes them to take it down! And the fact that they allow and take percent from counterfeits(less than $500) that are already sold before they are flagged!

charlink @gg71 yeah I know it’s crazy right! I once had a 100% authentic Chanel GST taken down because posh said it was fake - I was outraged considering how much time I spend reporting actual fakes. They were quick to put the listing back when they realized, but their whole system of reporting is just broken. @nicoleohi

And those so called VIP gifts also sell like crazy and never get taken down. Let’s hope as they continue to grow they do something about this and their customer service!

I think she realizes now that they are fakes because I’ve seen her customers complaining on the listing that she hasn’t shipped yet and she was telling them she had an ‘unexpected funeral’ but they will get their bags😅🤔 Not sure what she’s trying to do

charlink @slmellio404 Hi There! Chanel introduced the serial codes in bags around 1986, all bags produced before will not have a serial code. However, there are VERY FEW pre-1986 bags still on the market so they are a rare find. People with fake vintage often assume their bag is pre-1986 as a reason for it not having a date code, so watch out for that. It does happen often in older bags that the serial sticker disappears with use and I've sold many bags like that.

charlink @slmellio404 Please have a look in my closet, I have a guide to authenticate vintage bags that do not have a serial seal anymore. As for jewelry, having a stamp does not mean authentic, there's a lot of fake jewelry on posh and they all have a stamp... vintage pieces will have different kinds of stamps. Unfortunately I don't know that much about jewelry as I do about bags so can't tell you more than that, hope this helps!

bluxangel_13 @charlink Thanks. I did look thru. Am interested and do look for serial numbers. Jewelry I have has a cc Hang tag but no stamp. None of hardware have chanel cannot find a number. Has CC embedded on front. Purse is red detail with squares of pink/tan/ green/ A blue green/ it's a crossbody. Logo is sewn in in red leather. charlink @slmellio404 Yes I understand, it can be tricky to authenticate vintage pieces... If you have pieces and you want to know for sure I'd recommend getting a third party authentication. I've used 'Real Authentication' for both jewelry and bags and they're excellent!

I don’t sell very often any more… Prices for CHANEL went up A LOT and it’s getting really hard to source bags that I could sell at a reasonable price… I’ve seen @couture_nina having vintage Chanel at reasonable prices (haven’t boughy from her though) - but don’t have any sellers I regularly buy from - just be sure to buy above $500 ( SO many scams on posh nowadays!)
