Hi there! I'm Chelsea, and I'm on an adventure to embrace my changing style! That means I'm pretty much selling 3/4 of my wardrobe and I'm pretty flexible on prices. I love just about anything with a Peter pan collar, a liberty of London print, or in chambray. My favorite brands are J. cnmerton @personal_essay Hi! This is the nicest message, thank you! So easy first: my glasses are from Bonlook.com. I have several pairs from them, and a pair of sunglasses and I LOVE them! They do good sales too, so you can get 2 pairs for $145... But they are usually between $75 and $95, which is amazing!

cnmerton @personal_essay I am going back to school to get my MA and changing fields, which calls for a different look. I'm also finding that with so many new options available here on Poshmark, I have been leaning towards more streamlined and utilitarian silhouettes. I also have SO MANY dresses and skirts that I have never worn. Which is why I am here! I want my pieces to find homes where they will be loved! Thank you so much for asking! personal_essay @cnmerton That is uncanny! I'm getting my MFA, and I feel like I'm being drawn toward minimalism, but in an avant-garde sort of way, so not true minimalism. I teach at a rural, agricultural high school in Illinois, so I probably confuse everyone with my garb, but as I've gotten older, I'm taking its extension of myself a lot more mindfully.

personal_essay @cnmerton It's super strange, but I'm more into quality and timelessness in clothing and shoes. I look at a piece for how long I think it will hold up and whether it dates itself. Also, a balance between style and comfort is a must! What is your MA in?

cnmerton @personal_essay I completely understand that! I actually make clothes, so I drive people bonkers when shopping because I flip everything inside out and check seams. I'm in love with the idea of minimalism and a curated wardrobe, so I am adding listings constantly when I get tired of writing. I'm studying History! My thesis is on a sewing school in Baltimore during the 1800s. Baltimore is the original home of the sweatshop, so this is on my mind a lot. How about you?

personal_essay @cnmerton Woah! That is such a cool focus for your thesis! I love obscure focuses like that. My whole existence is built on obscure focuses. :) that is so cool. I teach English but I always tell my students that I also secretly teach history so I spend like 25% of the time going over historical context for anything we read. I'm getting my MFA in writing because I was asked to take over the AP composition course when my colleague retires. Wheeee! But really, it has been a great experience.

I actually live just outside of Baltimore, and I came across the topic in my undergrad while trying to find literally anything about the garment industry in the newspaper. I read 50 years of papers, but it was a perfect topic and I've been living in dusty boxes in a library ever since! Your job sounds wonderful! Literature and history are so intertwined, you sound like a great teacher. And studying writing to teach writing sounds amazing!
