pinmie50 @chibbitts1 I had to have gastric bypass to lose the weight in order to have ndo. Hip replacement. Went from 320lbs. to 160 in 6 months--stabilized at 170lbs. But love to see what you have in your closet.

chibbitts1 @believer13 Thank you so much! It definitely wasn’t easy... and I didn’t do it alone. I had a LOT of accountability. What truly made the change for me was how I thought about food... as soon as I stopped thinking of eating as a temporary, unhealthy (and totally ineffective) “diet” and started understanding it was a permanent “lifestyle change,” it made all the difference.

chibbitts1 @believer13 I began eating only clean, fresh, whole foods; and instead of two or three large meals, I balanced in small portions throughout the day to include all major food groups: lean protein (meat, fish, poultry), dairy (milk, cheese, yogurt, eggs), fiber (vegetables), sugar (fruit), whole grains (bread, rice, corn, potatoes), and fat (nuts, seeds, avocado). And of course, lots of water!! As far as exercise, I never did anything overly strenuous. Mostly walking, light jogging, and yoga.

believer13 @chibbitts1 that’s awesome you feel very proud it’s hard to be very disciplined I commend you - to doing the healthy thing - God bless I am a nurse practitioner or was for 30 yrs then had a serious medical issue in my brain which caused my thyroid to shut down - that with menopause - have about 40 to lose but just have to make the lifestyle change ! Thank you for sharing your journey - I pray continued blessings for you 🙏

Sounds simple and it really is... just takes A LOT of discipline and daily planning. And I didn’t do it alone. I had nutritional counselors and fitness trainers to guide and keep me accountable.

chibbitts1 @kmfarrell It was a long road with a lot of changes, but now these changes are the daily habits of my every day life. The battle with food and body image will always be a struggle, though, so I still maintain relationships with the counselors and trainers who keep me accountable. I couldn’t have done it without them! Goals are so much easier to reach when you’re not alone! :)
