infiniterevival First things first. Find a space with good lighting. Good lighting will be your best friend, it makes you photos look good and gives the potential buy clear visuals so they see EXACTLY what they’re buying! Second, make sure the space is decluttered. This makes the piece your trying to sell the main focus. If you can find a white wall or flat white surface. Clean and simple photos are usually a great place to start for beginners.

infiniterevival . Feel free to get fancy with your background as you progress and get comfortable with the app! You have a couple of options on how to display the items you’re selling. The most common ways to photograph/style are with flat lays, hangers or mannequins. I would recommend using a mannequin or flat lays. I started with flat lays and you can find some amazing ways to style flats by going to Google or Pinterest!

infiniterevival Now that you have good lighting, a decluttered space and a way you’d like to display your items, you’re ready to start taking photos! Simply go to the app, go to the “Sell” Button located at the center of the Menu (in maroon/red at the bottom of the app) and start photographing away! I usually get a front, side (if you can), back, close up of the fabric/pattern, label and materials tag. ALWAYS point out flaws in your photos.

infiniterevival HONESTY IS KEY. It’s better to be honest about your pieces up front instead of sending it out, only to have it returned because they found a flaw. You’ll build better rapport with your customers and you get to keep your profit with honest photos 😉 You have the option to take up to 8 photos. Use them!

infiniterevival Now that you have your photos, it’s time to work on your title and description! Be sure to always put the label in the title. Not only does your piece go out on Poshmark, but it also will show up in search results on search engines. The better your title and description, the more likely you are to make a sale!

infiniterevival ! I also try to include type ( EXAMPLE Say you’re selling a top, describe it as: tank, ¾ sleeve, long sleeve, vest, etc.) I also try to include size if I can fit it. So a decent title would look something like this: Suzi Chen for Maggy Boutique Blue Pleated Midi Dress, 8. Now go to your description. Include everything you have in the title and measurements. Those are typically must-haves in your description.

infiniterevival I’ve found that buyers like examples of how to wear the item (with gold jewelry and black heels) and places or situations in which they wear it (to special event or wedding). These are all things that can help your sales! Admittedly, I don’t always place measurements in my posts initially. I like to start a conversation with potential buyers to build a rapport, but that’s just me. Everyone else on PM will tell you add measurements, it’s just good practice!!

infiniterevival Now you fill out the Category, Quantity, Size, Brand, Colors, Whether or not it still has the tags, Original price and the price you’d like to sell it for. Please keep in mind that any item priced under $15, Poshmark will take $2.95 of your sale. All sales over $15, Poshmark will take 20%, make sure to price accordingly.

infiniterevival Luckily, the app will tell you how much you will actually make after Poshmark takes their cut. That’s it! It probably seems a little overwhelming to start, but practice makes perfect. Study and mimic those other Poshers you admire, ask questions, make money and most importantly, HAVE FUN!!! Hopefully this helps ❤ Welcome to Poshmark and Happy Poshing!
