Hi...don't worry about the "topaz". I see this all of the time with gems and sterling. A lot of jewelry that is stamped .925 is not silver at all. Just put a magnet near a piece of jewelry and see if it has a reaction. If it does it is not silver. I use a gem tester on all stones...that's how I know the topaz earrings are glass. Thanks again!
