After doing some research, there are too many red flags coming up that indicate it may be a fake. 1) no “Japan” printed on the case back, 2) the ref # 8008-288 with or without the two “W” and the serial # 8D2228 on the case back don’t show up anywhere on Seiko databases, 3) other known fakes have the unusual and rare Quartz and Water Resist (not resistant) on the dial as well, and

4) no movement number on the bottom of the dial, just “Japan Movt” which does not appear on any of their other watches. You may want to reconsider your supplier if all this turns out to be true. I just have a bad feeling about this and it doesn’t seem legitimate. Sorry, I’m sure your are an honest businessman/hobbyist but I should just pass on it. Thank you.

@crgoins ok just to let you know I had it serviced at one of the most respected jewelers here in denver they are a authorized Rolex Dealer also Omega Cartier just about every high line watch avalable. They have been in business for 50yrs I am good friends with son he check every watch this is authentic I can assure you. I've been with poshmark over 2yrs I dont sell fake or replicas. I will get someone a replica if they ask me to.

But when it comes to my higher lines I dint sell fake watches if you buy it and you find out it's not what you bought you can return it that's how poshmark works. Same with Ebay Etsy you cant cat hurt. I spend too much on my watches.i have a 30 plus collection of incredible watches. I love watches I let one every once in a while. Like my this is my business my money to live on I work to hard to find nice unique ones if need to see more the just let me know

Well Craig keep a look out. I have a bunch of ads to do on 15 watches, a couple from my collection. I have a father that has been very ill. Hes not long for this earth but. Craig, so on this watch the face could havea been re painted that might be the reason it doesnt look right to you but I double checked with Brandon its authenticity is solid. But in the future dont hesitate to ask to see the movement or what ever

@crgoinssorry I havent got anything up. Been very busy my father passed away. keeping with my mom as much as I can. He would of been 85yr on the 26th of April. They were together 61yrs. He was very good man , it's going to be real though sad times. But anyway I'm going to be needing some alone time to process it all so I think doing ads will work so keep a eye out from now through the werkend

@jgbjgb Two things: if...1) when you took the pics the battery was good and since then it has died...just needs replaced. 2) the watch displays 20, as in 2020 (it should w/o a problem). You know, computers only count up to 1999, it’s a new millennium thing.
So if it truly only needs a battery and it can display past 1999 (it should), then yes, I want the watch.

@crgoins Yes, the watch worked fine and time past, so to the best of my knowledge, the battery has expired. About the 20 thing, I am unsure but agree with you, that it should no problem. :)
