jaimelesrobes Hey Curt! Are you a Who Dat living in Colorado?! And, since you’re a Posh Ambassador, can you educate me on what is considered a low ball offer....like if you offer below a certain percentage of original price? I signed up for Poshmark in 2018 but didn’t begin selling (or buying) until last month. Any tips appreciated!!

onenationmerch @jaimelesrobes BWAHAHAHAH! Hello there Melanie (?). I am 1000% a Who Dat. Funny thing is...i just move here from Georgia...surrounded by buzzard meat. I think a low ball offer differs with each person; however, for me, I generally have my prices set to be about 30-40% below retail.

onenationmerch @jaimelesrobes In a retail world, I shouldn't have to accept any other offers because my prices are technically competitive; however, in the world e-commerce world we are in, everyone is after saving the most amount of pennies possible and as a seller, I understand that. Therefore, I oftentimes will entertain offers up to an additional 35% off of my asking price. ROI must always be considered as well.

onenationmerch @jaimelesrobes Short answer: Anything over 35% below asking price is a lowball offer to me. OAN: there are items where supply and demand must be considered, for instance, I have a pair of shoes in my closet that retail for $175; however, there were only a limited number made; therefore, the supply is low which translates to a higher asking price. This is proven when looking at the many Jordan Retros that have recently come out. I hope this answers your question. WHO DAT!!!

jaimelesrobes @seoul4realmerch FANTASTIC advice Curt, thank you! I agree that the threshold for low ball offers will vary by seller, but your guidelines are helpful. In my case, my closet contains all personal items I’ve previously purchased/worn, so I consider very carefully the Posh price before posting, based on condition, whether it still fits me or not, orig price, retail price, rare status, how long I’ve had it, etc.

jaimelesrobes .... I try to be mindful and fair. And yet, I’ve had to decline a few offers that seemed way too low. ROI is more important for certain items than others, in my case. I didn’t set out on Poshmark to artificially inflate my Posh prices with the intent to negotiate down from there, so I’m learning as I go. I’ve had 4 sales in the first month, which seemed slow, but I realize the volume of stuff on here is enormous!!

onenationmerch @jaimelesrobes then I watched a few videos and tips and jumped back in and the sales started coming. My advice: LIST LIST LIST SHARE SHARE SHARE. Share your items daily. If you have time, 3x a day.
