I’d love to get my closet promoted more and have no clue how to do this - my sales have totally been dumb luck. Any suggestions?

@cmartinez92103 looking at your closet I would say it’s not dumb luck you are doing a lot of great things! Most important is having good clean photos, I always make sure to have front of item, back and any size/care tags which looks like you are!

The two main major things I see you can do is more self sharing and following people! It says you currently only have 1 share but the more you share your items the more they get seen! And when you follow and share other people they will return the favor and ensuring your item gets a wider audience!

One of the biggest ways people shop through Poshmark though is through the search feature, so make sure are the relevant categories are chosen, for example color, NWT, brand. If you have gotten this far the best practice is using relevant keywords. When people are searching posh for something specific they probably won’t be using search terms like beautiful or sexy so make sure the words you use in your title and description are specific to the item.

@cmartinez92103 think about how you would search for something! Something that I do that takes a little more involvement is when possible I find the specific style name of the item. Brands like banana republic, Anthropologie, free People, Lucky brand all have style names. You can find these names a few ways, Madewell and j. Crew all have style numbers and stuff in the last 5 years will easily be found with a quick google search.

For brands like Anthropologie you will have to use search terms. For example your field and flower tennis pullover is actually called the Wimbledon pullover. It took me only 3 minutes to find the name and then pull up the item on google to verify the name and see the description the brand used.

How do I self share?

A big help! I updated my listing.

What I did was I searched Poshmark for “field flower tennis” and set my options to “all sizes” and “availability all”. After scrolling I see several people called it the Wimbledon so I then googled Anthropologie Wimbledon and your top popped up! I could then go to the website and see how they described it. If the brand includes a product description like “contrast buttons at back/nape” I would include those in my description.

@cmartinez92103 Doing the Poshmark search also allows me to see what my item sold for from other users, I use this information to make sure I price mine right and at a fair market price for myself and the buyer. For example your field flower pullover has sold in the past from 15-60 in used condition.

@cmartinez92103 That gives you a better idea of what you should price yours at. Oftentimes when you have the specific style name you will get more $$ so the effort/research it takes to find the style names is always worth it to me.

@cmartinez92103 @cmartinez92103 @cmartinez92103 To self share the best recommended practice is ENL, which means edit, next, list. You have to tap to open your item listing, then tap edit- but you don’t actually have to change anything- and then list. This will ensure your listing goes to the top of the search results!

@cmartinez92103 The main way people self share though is by pressing and holding on the listing and then tapping share or just tapping the arrows in a box just under your list and then tapping “my followers”. During parties if your item fits the party parameters it also gives you the option to choose to share to the party but your item will only share once to each party and then each additional item share during the party will just go to your followers.

@cmartinez92103 I would recommend scrolling through the posh etiquette which can be found in your main section, the icon on the bottom farthest right of your screen.

I tried to search to find a listing in my closet and it doesn’t come up. Are your own listings suppressed from your own search?
Thanks for any advise you can provide!
Sep 18Reply

lavidalocatx
@cmartinez92103 they aren’t, did you clear the filters so size and availability say all? Are the other filters you’ve chosen correct? If yes to all that is it a recently listed item? A few times I have had one of my listings not show up right away. If it has been more than 24 hours since you first listed and it is still not showing up you will need to email Posh support and they will check on it for you.

Thanks! I’ll try again. I put in specifics in the search including size but got all sorts of sizes so clearly I did something wrong.

@cmartinez92103 I’m confused as to your aim, i wouldn’t use sizes

hi Cynthia I love the dress that I bought from you. I just tried it on and it seems to be tighter and pulling on the right side. by any chance have you had this dress altered? I'm not looking to return it or anything just curious.

@blackcatcouture
I didn’t have it altered and not sure why it is pulling on one side. The dress fit me
Perfectly which is why I bought it.
I’m sorry for the issue, do you think an alteration would help? It was an expensive dress and you got a great deal so if it can be resolved by a tailor it may be worth it.
Is there anything I can do?

@cmartinez92103 oh no, the dress is beautiful and as I commented in perfect condition. I was just wondering. I hope I didn't offend you. most clothes don't fit me well so I was just curious if it was the cut or if it had been altered. I still love it and i hate to tell you i would've paid more. I'm very happy with both the shoes and dress. :)
