Could you double check the elastic on the shoulder? If I remember correctly the elastic is only on the front part of the dress and does not connect to the shoulder straps. The straps are meant to be worn slightly off the shoulder. I would have definitely mentioned the wear on the elastic if I thought it needed replacement. 💛

@van206 hi! I double checked and the elastic is not in the straps but was probably originally there since there is a little elastic peeking out of a seam pop. That would have kept it snugly on the shoulders. The front elastic was knotted on one end and not stretchy. I can have my seamstress replace it though so no worries! I love it even with the flaws! ❤️

@shannonveliotis yes! Just received it yesterday. It has lots of mold discolorations in the folds and a big tear at the hem. I love it but am assessing whether or not I can fix it.

@vtgobsessed hey there. I took a closer look at the piece. It’s definitely vintage, handmade. Very delicate. No tags anywhere. I noticed on further inspection there are some light pulls to fabric toward the bottom hem and a slight discoloration at the top back collar.

shireen here from US 12 Vintage Station, I want to confirm the size of the skirt you purchased. It's Vintage size. I measured the waist to make sure you are still interested. Waist is 24 1/2 inches with no give.
Please let me know if you still want to purchase the skirt. The batch of skirts I received were from one estate. Most of them were size 10 to 14, but this one was homemade and the measurements are way off for a size 10.

If you look at photo#6 below the waist about 2inches on the side where I’m holding it, looks like a black small circle. A friend found it at an estate sale and I hand washed, air dried and ironed every inch. There's sort of an odd quality to the front lower hem that perhaps you as an afficianado perhaps can explain. I've been sewing since I was young and I can tell it's all original, but there's no brand tag to it.

One Question, Did you read the description where it says “some signs of wear from age” ? The signs of wear are a slight bit of yellowing on the cream part of the stripes. I think the yellowing would come out with a gentle wash but I want to make sure you understand what the signs of wear are. I tried to get the yellowing to show up in pics but I couldn’t get it to show.

It’s in great condition, but one section of lace is discolored. So it looks white and cream, and I didn’t know if it can be repaired. It’s a beautiful dress.
