808danig Hi - I don't really know - I thought you don't get paid until I 'accept' the order? The pull down choices are 'Accidental Order', 'order is delayed' or 'order not as described'. I don't know enough of how these would affect your ratings and I wouldn't want to give any negative feed back on your account. I totally understand as I am in one of the 4 and top locations in Hawaii with positive access cases as well... not good here right either. I am ok if we delay if nothing else seems to work?

I am a seamstress, mid 50, super casual person living in Hi (summer everyday). I love finding rare or interesting Polynesian clothes/items at low prices, some to wear or decor for my house. Love deals are Jean/daily basics. I look or unusual to me clothing @ Thrift prices I might even consider at full price.I look for clothing/fabric to refashion/upcycle.I enjoy the hunt.

808danig @irenecase Everything is more expensive here in Hi in general or doesn't exist so we shop online. I am high risk during this pandemic and usually thrift locally had to switch to online. Best answer to your question for myself would be to carry the latest quality hot items at affordable thrift pricing. I follow trends on social media looking for these new items that can be timeless as well. I mix vintage pieces with contemporary. Ur closet is really nice! Thanks for hitting me up!

808danig @aimeechretien LOL right!? I used to thrift locally but had to switch to online but the the health risks here from pandemic. Regardless any really good Hawaiian/Polynesian clothes/items that are really nice are either bought up quickly or priced super high. My main interest in them is to find quality pieces to wear myself but mostly to refashion/upcycle nice prints that maybe tacky as is and turn them into something more modern/wearable for myself or to sell to friends.

808danig @aimeechretien For me as a seamstress and upcycler a cool vintage men's Aloha shirt looks like an awesome throw pillow for my house. We can wear kooky Polynesian wear daily here without it looking strange too. Most of the classics and great clothing manufactures are closed and gone making finding really quality items very hard locally, sometimes easier here or other online vintage sites. Living here is very expensive so thrifting is my main shopping go to and always has been.

aimeechretien @808danig yes, Hawaii is very unique for having had a signature print and clothing style which was actually made in Hawaii! I see lots of cheap Hawaiian shirts but I really want the Hawaiian made ones. It’s sucks that clothing manufacturers have moved out of Hawaii.

808danig @aimeechretien And yes, I feel like an idiot sometimes buying back stuff from Hawaii from the mainland! Both my grandmas had great taste. Neither wore much 'Aloha' wear though, more classic. Things don't always stay well maintained here because of the humidity and get damaged faster. Our cars rust very quickly even with protection. I grew up kind poor with hand me downs and thrift clothes so I love this option. It is also fun for me. I can't afford fancy new clothes. I invent my own style.

808danig @aimeechretien It's too expensive here now, even more so since the pandemic. Locals are struggling to stay. May friends have had to move to the mainland to afford to live decently. Very sad. Hawaii made items outside Hawaii always have seemed less expensive and plentiful. You can rarely find good things locally... bought up in a second if priced fairly. Other items super overpriced catering to tourist visiting. Older clothing was better made .. not disposable like most average stores today.

808danig @aimeechretien Exactly!!! With my middle age girlfriends most of us get a kick out of wearing vintage Hawaiian wear. They know I love them & give me things they don't want or wear anymore. I can do alterations for them to help them keep wearing the ones they love. I've cut off the bottom of a few less expensive Muu Muu to wear as a cute top with funky Jeans, cool nude wedge sandals. I'll wear a short crazy dress to the grocery store. Why not!? I admire the craftsmanship with detailing the most.
