csreidt What does 86 contemporary mean? I have a few pieces I could sell. Fiestaware is all I use daily. Is there a way to get rid of the surface scratches?

daviadesanno @csreidt So there is “vintage” Fiestaware, which is considered 1936 to 1972, and then there’s post 86 Fiestaware, which is what you are referring to that you use daily. In normal antiques anything over 20 years is considered vintage, but in the Fiestaware world, vintage is considered the pre-war (1936) to the 1970s, and post-86 is everything that was released after 1986 to present day.

daviadesanno Even though that is more than 20 years ago, and many of the pieces are unavailable and highly sought after, they are just not considered “vintage” in the Fiestaware world. I hope that helps and is understandable 😄

daviadesanno As far as the scratches on your dishes there’s a product called Bar Keepers Friend that comes in a powder I find it at the Home Depot; make a paste mixture with that powder and water and use a soft sponge and a lot of times the scratches will go away or at least get lighter.
