santafefindings @latxgal60 if you are talking about the little gray flag to the right-it is for “flagging” inappropriate behavior that violates Poshmark’s terms of service. For example scamming or harassment. There is a drop down menu of reasons you can flag a comment and then Poshmark employees view the comment.

santafefindings @mazeharris these scammer accounts are created by automated software programs called ‘bots’. They are typically large criminal organizations in the third world. They lure desperate sellers offline and then try to convince sellers to do a transaction that involves cashier checks or other online banking apps with the sole purpose of getting your financial info and clearing out your bank account. You know you have been scammed when your bank account balance is zero!!

santafefindings @inchaus3 if they just have your mobile phone number or email you will be OK. If you initiated an online transaction and they have your banking info- you need to contact your bank immediately. If they have already wiped out your checking account-your money is irretrievable and in Delhi or Mumbai.

santafefindings @lysalexander68 the Poshmark algorithm will give you hundreds of instant followers after you open an account. Suddenly it will seem there is an endless stream of strangers following you. Then it stops. This platform is automated by algorithms and there seem to have been only a few actual employees in California until Poshmark was bought last year by a huge company that specializes in selling customer data.

santafefindings @lysalexander68 a lot of accounts on Poshmark are fake bot accounts set up by scammers. Poshmark ignores this because it artificially inflates their user numbers which may make their stock price higher. The algorithm will reward you with higher visibility if you engage with the app in certain ways. Higher visibility means more sales.

santafefindings @lysalexander68 The algorithm likes the following: listing items, buying items, giving positive feedback after a purchase, sharing other closets, sharing your own closet, following closets, greeting new Poshmark members, etc. many of the of the professional resellers with big closets use apps to automate sharing , following and greeting. This violates Poshmark’s terms of service though.
