Hi! I'm Donna, I’m an artist from New York. I work with several mediums but I’m currently working on a series of hand sculpted ceramic pet heads, (mostly dogs) that vary in size. I’m currently open for commissions, I require 2-3 photographs of the pet’s head, one straight forward portrait shot and a side/profile shot (each side of the face, if the pet’s marking are different on each side). I use these images to help individually hand sculpt that pets head. (The images also help me color match different glazes.) Once, I’m done with the sculpting process, I let that piece dry out before firing it in the kiln. Then, I’m able to hand paint each sculpture and customize the glazing process to match your pet’s color as well as any markings. Finally, I’m able to fire the piece for the last time. This process can take up to 2-3 weeks to complete and possibly another week for shipping.
