@jfuerst1993 thank you so much.

@jfuerst1993 thank you so much! I was curious what tips you have for making better sales
jfuerst1993
@sewgraceful17 You're welcome! I always start my prices high with the intent to come down plus it gives me wiggle room for offers as well as discounted shipping. Share your listings often. Follow other Poshers & share their listings. Offer a bundle discount. I try to send offers to my likers at least twice per week. I also do a 4/$20 deal where Poshers can bundle 4 select items & get that bundle for $20. I post to my social media about new items or sales that I have in my Poshmark closet.

@sewgraceful17 I would also suggest making a listing about all products that you use to clean the items you have for sale as well as what kind of environment they're exposed to...like I live on a farm, so I have a post stating that all clothing & shoes is exposed to dogs, cats, & cattle. On my listings, I make a note of it for potential buyers to refer to that listing if they have allergies/sensitivities.
sewgraceful17
@jfuerst1993 thank you so much for these amazing tips!! I will definitely do that! I want to definitely get this up and going. I have so much stuff to sell
sewgraceful17
@jfuerst1993 just curious how many sales do you make on average? like weekly?
jfuerst1993
@sewgraceful17 It's hit & miss...some days I'll make a sale to 1 or 2 people & others I won't make any. Sometimes it could be a week or 2 between sales. I use Poshmark as an online garage sale because I don't live in town so I don't have any luck with having garage sales plus I live an hour away from the closest stores that buy clothing, shoes, & accessories.
sewgraceful17
@jfuerst1993 yes I am too busy for yardsales too...so that's good. It's easy to fit in with my actual job
jfuerst1993
@sewgraceful17 A thing I really like about it is that some people (& companies) ship in boxes, so I can reuse the boxes when I make sales. I'll also pick up a roll of brown paper at Walmart (it's by the packing supplies) & use that for shipping, if I don't have the right size box. With the prepaid shipping labels, I put the packages in my mailbox, if I don't plan to go to town because my local PO has odd lobby hours.

@jfuerst1993 that's very cool yeah see I don't own a printer but I can just print at my post office I think...right?
sewgraceful17
@jfuerst1993 Maybe I could send it to my bf at his work and he could print for me
jfuerst1993
@sewgraceful17 You can print from anywhere that you can access your email. I'd suggest buying a cheap printer for your home, that way you can still print if for some reason you can't print from your workplace plus some companies don't like people using their printers for personal use.
sewgraceful17
@jfuerst1993 good idea!! something to save up for
jfuerst1993
@sewgraceful17 Definitely. Don't know if you have a birthday coming up, yet this year, or if you celebrate Christmas, but it'd be something to ask for before you go out & purchase 1. Just a suggestion to save you some money.
sewgraceful17
@jfuerst1993 awesome idea!!! yes my birthday is the first of October and there's always Christmas too. I'll do that
jfuerst1993
@sewgraceful17 That's cool. My birthday is the beginning of November, my twins is the end of November, my oldest is the beginning of December, & my husband is the middle of January. so I'm always thinking what we don't get for our birthdays, we ask for for Christmas. What my husband doesn't get for Christmas, he asks for for his birthday. So we kind of skip buying things, other than necessities, during harvest & thru the winter months.
sewgraceful17
@jfuerst1993 yes I've been hinting at ppl what I want for my birthday if they feel like getting me anything. I live in Texas so it'll prolly still be very warm around my birthday so lots of options for things to do. I'll be 20
jfuerst1993
@sewgraceful17 Yes, very true. I'm in northeast Kansas, originally from Minnesota. So I've very rarely seen warm weather on my birthday. A lot of times, I just add stuff to my Amazon Prime cart & my husband is able to access it on his phone & computer...that's my way of hinting at what I want for my birthday & Christmas.
sewgraceful17
@jfuerst1993 haha that's cute! maybe I should share my shein cart lol
jfuerst1993
@sewgraceful17 Haha I would. Save yourself some money, if you can. Could always screenshot items (or copy links) & share them on your social media as hints to friends & family. I've been doing that lately with toys for my kids & I put "this is what [kid's name] needs for their birthday, for anyone looking to gift them something".
sewgraceful17
@jfuerst1993 yes you know what I love your ideas! will do
jfuerst1993
@sewgraceful17 Haha thanks! Another thing that I was just thinking about...if you make a purchase, on Poshmark, be sure to inspect the item(s) ASAP before accepting. I've had it happen where people will accidentally send the wrong item. Same thing goes for selling...make sure you got the correct item with the correct shipping label before mailing. It'll save so much headache when the package is delivered.
sewgraceful17
@jfuerst1993 thank you so much! very good tip! I'm really hoping to be able to sell some stuff on here and also get stuff eventually
jfuerst1993
@sewgraceful17 You'll sell stuff, it just takes a little bit of time. If I have items that I really don't care if I get any money out of, I'll put 1 in with a sale with a little note...basically saying "Thank you for your purchase. Please enjoy this free gift. Be sure to check back often for more great items & deals." It's just a way to get rid of stuff & the buyer can do whatever they want with the free gift.
sewgraceful17
@jfuerst1993 true yes that's a handy tip
jfuerst1993
@sewgraceful17 Yes. I can't think of any other tips, right now. But good luck to you!
sewgraceful17
@jfuerst1993 well thank you for all the helpful advice!! I will definitely apply some of itπ
jfuerst1993
@sewgraceful17 You're welcome!
jfuerst1993
@sewgraceful17 I just thought of something else...When posting jeans, shorts, & capri pants, make sure you note measurements in the description. Most common measurements are flat across the waist, rise, & inseam. If you post skirts, recommended measurements are flat across the waist & overall length.
sewgraceful17
@jfuerst1993 yes I need to go back and fix that on all the posts with pants today.
jfuerst1993
@sewgraceful17 If you have any clothing that you feel fits smaller or bigger than the average clothes of that size, post measurements. For tops, it's armpit to armpit along with overall length. Long sleeve tops, it's a good idea to post the sleeve length measurement.
jfuerst1993
@sewgraceful17 Anytime you can post measurements, do it because somebody is bound to ask. Even on jewelry...post pictures of the measurements (a tape measure or ruler next to bracelets, necklaces, & long earrings). Smaller earrings can get by with a picture of a common coin (quarter is most common) next to it.
sewgraceful17
@jfuerst1993 ok yeah I should prolly go back and redo some of my older posts
jfuerst1993
@sewgraceful17 I wouldn't worry about it, unless it's bottoms because the sizes differ so much between brands. Tops & jewelry don't necessarily need measurements, but it'll save you from having to go back & measure later, if someone asks. If I post shoes, I post pics of the measurements because shoes can be hard to size without seeing them in person.
