Hi there! Thank you for the purchase of the Coach bag, yes the bag is authentic it’s a vintage bag so over the years it’s aged. But I believe it does say Coach in the front middle near the top of the bag. Sorry to hear about the cotton smell, I’ve had it stored under my bed for a while without use but I’m assuming the smell should go away once the bag has been aired out for a little bit
