octopustarts @aags96 Score! Thank you so much! Now I just got to keep them away from my family. They HATE these tights. Think they look trashy and make me look like an insane homeless person, so they throw them away and tell me they did me a favour. And they wonder why I don't visit more often.

octopustarts @aags96 My family thinks they know what is best and rather than accept me, they want to change me. Ugh, they threw out all of my clothes once and then took me to Forever 21 to get me 'real clothes'. I now understand why my father lived across the country from his family. I love them, as long as they stay out of my closet. They live in the south, so when I go visit, I get strange looks from strangers, who just nod knowingly when I say I grew up in California. Like I am ruined or something

dressscore @octopustarts Honestly, I don't know why they think they have the right to throw out your clothes. If it were me, I would cut off all ties--fashion is my life! It's my business! F21 has some stuff I'd wear, but it's by no means a lifestyle determinant. I am in the "south" (Virginia) and have been my entire life. I don't get too many strange looks, and luckily my family is totally accepting. It must really suck to have family that wants to change you.

octopustarts @aags96 I have a friend who lives in Virginia who doesn't get weird looks either. We just blame it on my being black and look like a lazy thrift store goth not classy urban goddess media tells us we are suppose to look like. I let my family get away with for as long as I did because we were reconnecting, they weren't apart of my life for 21 years, and we were brought together because our dad died. But I fought them because I thought if they just got to know me, they would come to accept me.

dressscore @octopustarts I am also a lazy thrift goth/punk :D Hopefully they will accept you one day. Reconnecting with family can be a really good thing, as I'm sure you know. I'm sorry to hear about your dad--I'm sure he supported you in everything you are. On a lighter note, those tights you bought from me are gonna look friggin' awesome with a darker skin tone! Hope that's okay for me to say xD I'll want pics!!!

octopustarts @aags96 Oh definitely. There will be so many pictures of me in these tights. And I finally found me a pair of white creepers in my size. I just need to find some more skirts and shorts and I have what I will be wearing all summer. I will have my favourite tights again, no one can tell me nothing.
