If you think someone you know might be considering suicide, talk to them before it’s too late. Asking if they’re having thoughts of suicide doesn’t increase their risk for acting on them — and it doesn’t make you responsible for their actions if they do. Ask the tough questions, help them find support, and do your best to keep them safe. They may not ask for help, but that doesn't mean it isn't wanted. People who take their lives don’t want to end their lives, they just want to stop the pain.
