Hi! I'm Gaby. I am a part time reseller. Officially started on May 15, 2019 after watching YouTube for a couple of years. I applied a lot of tips and they proved to work. elizabethm71 There are times when it’s a bit more active with sales/offers but times when it’s not as active. It really varies. I have thought about expanding to other things as well. A lot of people on here try to lowball you as if it’s cheap mass manufactured jewelry. They don’t realize the hardware isn’t cheap and everything is plated.

elizabethm71 There are a lot of offers I’ve had to turn down. It’s not even worth selling it if you charge too little. At the same time you want to make alittle something. Sometime I might expand to other things just to have more variety. The same thing applies though that while you don’t want to charge too much, you don’t want to make nothing either. I always try to factor in my mind though that people are paying $7 more for shipping.

elizabethm71 With that being said, I do make some sales. You can’t always predict when they are going to come, but they do come! 😆 :) There is also the cost of boxes, tags, etc. I factor that all in. Not everyone includes all that. I really do enjoy it and it is fun! Sometime I will try selling other things as well for variety but am going to not charge too much, not charge too little.

surfingzion @elizabethm71...yeah, jewelry is tricky... I'm starting to think it may be worth while to target a higher end market. I think that is where the difference is. Ex: larimar is very popular now, so price point is higher. Then, the shipping becomes a lower % for the buyer or for the seller to include. Also, if we can offer sets the same would happen...Have you tried that?

mamabhappy @surfingzion Thanks for the like and the good advice about YouTube. You’re right! I am nervous to get started listing. It’s not so much the learning curve as my concern over dealing with unscrupulous people. I’ve already read tons of stories on PM where sellers feel Posh doesn’t take care of them when it comes to shady buyers. As a buyer, I am also concerned about shady sellers. How do you protect yourself?

surfingzion 1. When I posted a bag with a price over 100, I'd get a quick invitation to communicate outside the app. Anything like that is an obvious scam. I have no mercy: report the user to PM and block the user. Nip it in the but without emotions and moved on. I saw no negative effects.

surfingzion 2. Summer time it felt like there were a lot of kids just jumping in to play games. They would make a ridiculous low offer and I don't remember what else they'd do, but you would get that sense. I just blocked them.

surfingzion 3. Once, I was selling a man's watch, a guy made a ridiculous low offer, I countered closer to my original price and instead of offering half way, he offerec one dollar over his first. I don't spend any more time with those. I just declined, blocked the guy and even found his instagram and blocked him there too, just in case.

surfingzion I try to keep communication professionally, not taking things personally. But if I feel something is strange, I just block and move on. Sometimes, there are buyers that don't use technology right and make mistakes, too. I had one a buyer tell me she meant to cancel a purchase when I told her I had packed her shoes and would ship the next day. I asked her to cancel, she didn't, so I cancelled the purchase, saved the husle of an upset customer, and dealing with a case.

Strange things will happen and it seems like a the best way to deal with things that could happen is to educate myself so that I can use protection measures that are appropriate within PM.
