grrracie @nycfashiondiva : hi again! Working through the process with PM. The authentication team flagged that the fish head moves, which I know you mentioned in your post. However I'm wondering whether that is, in fact, the design of the piece or rather a flaw / defect. Do you really think the original design is intended to move? Another seller of a similar piece says the head on her item doesn't move. I look forward to your thoughts!

nycfashiondiva @grrracie : hi there, yes when I purchased the clutch the head of the fish moved. the sales person who showed me the clutch demonstrated it. but I leave the ultimate decision to you. it's a beautiful piece that's never been carried.

grrracie @nycfashiondiva : hello hello! so PM confirmed that, "after thoroughly evaluating the fish's head, we can see visible adhesive where the head and the body would have attached and should be stationary (not moving)." Additionally, I confirmed with the McQueen store that the original design intended a fixed head, hence the glue / adhesive around the head. McQueen would need to send the item to London for repair, which could take upwards of 8 months (!), and an unknown cost.

grrracie @nycfashiondiva : am very conflicted. I don't doubt that the piece has never been carried, and you have been a very accommodating seller. I also know how difficult it will be to find another identical piece, given that it is from the 2015 season. But I do have hesitation over paying that much money for a piece that I know is not in its originally designed state and requires repair.

nycfashiondiva @grrracie : I completely understand. It makes me sad that this piece was sold to me this way. I was always under the impression it moved. Given your research, I wholeheartedly understand your thought process. I think the only thing that makes sense is for PM to return it to me and to cancel the transaction. I will either keep it as is or try and send it out for repair and evaluation at a later date. It's too beautiful for no one to use. Kindest Regards.
