bassheadchem Wait so does the 220 work with the unifying receiver? Cause that usb stick sized receiver is pretty bad. I have a 460 gb thumb drive that’s as big as that receiver.

gunterhoberg No, the v220 only works with the usb stick sized receiver. It's a tradeoff, effectively a m305 mouse at a third of the cost, but then you have this big honking usb stick. Think I'm going to wrap this up, I never meant to give a college thesis on this mouse, but once geek mode is activated, it has a mind of it's own.

gunterhoberg Dear Cathy Clarke. I have dozens of them, but not here. In the conversation you are referring to, which in hindsight I rambled too much and it went off the rails, I mentioned that a Logitech V220 is 98% the same as a M305. Same shape, same weight, same feel, same wheel, looks the same. This is because the M305 was just a V220 that had been refreshed (updated) to support the new - at the time - and much smaller nano receivers.

gunterhoberg That said, a new/sealed m305 isn't very cheap, but if you go looking on the internet, you can find a new/sealed v220 for 15-20 dollars. The only caveat is that the v220 uses the old "stick" shaped receivers, which are those 2" long receivers that look like a USB stick. Some people hate that. If you're going to plug it into the back of a pc, or a hub, it doesn't much matter IMO. If you don't mind the shape of the receiver, a new/sealed v220 is about 1/3 the price of a new/sealed m305.

gunterhoberg If you google logitech v220 and click on images, you will see what I am saying. Plus, the v220 came in colors and patterns that the m305 never did.
