1) Go to the event
2) tap EDIT
3) scroll down
4) turn OFF "only admins can post to the event wall"
5) tap DONE in upper right hand corner

@vintagetagz those were the steps for my mobile (Samsung Galaxy) not desktop. Turning on notifications isn't the same as discussion. Notifications is just when you get notified about event. It's still not letting me post in discussion. I'm going to send you a Friend request on Facebook. I can message you there step by step screenshots.
