kathybrockdorf @purpleapple917 Lol, it can be a bit shocking when you go shopping for formal wear & especially wedding dresses, to learn that they run so small! Seems like on our wedding day we should be able to wear a smaller size!! I say don’t worry about the size it says, find a dress that you love!!!

purpleapple917 This is my second. His third, so I do t want anything to fancy, it’s a beach casual family wedding. I was thinking silk maybe cream off white nothing to heavy because I’m I. Florida and it’s hot as hell here

kathybrockdorf @purpleapple917 I chuckle, our marriage was somewhat a similar scenario. It was my 1st wedding, my husband’s the 3rd. We’ve been married just 37 years:). And yes, so many dresses are not designed for the curvy. Most dresses have about 1/4” seam allowance, which gives a bit of flexibility. All the Sharon Bowen Dryden gowns have a 1” seam allowance. I love silk gowns, that makes up the majority of my collection.

kathybrockdorf @purpleapple917 lol, I can only write 500 characters according to Poshmark! There are many things you can also consider to get the right fit and the right gown. Adding a corset back is a great way to allow for a great fit and isn’t a real costly alteration. And dropping a dress size is a realistic goal. I think I’m going into the shop on Monday or Tuesday of next week so I’ll get some more pics. Have a great weekend! Kathy

kathybrockdorf @purpleapple917 Yes, having your measurements and a picture of you as well is always very helpful. And yes, that is a Great idea to face time. I’m not sure I’ll be at the shop, my so. Has to go to Janesville for a few days and my husband is funny about me being at the shop by myself and he can’t go with me as he has to go out to a farm we’re selling. We have a lot on our plates the next couple weeks.
