Heidi, hi. I'm very sorry that you were so disappointed in the purchase of the belt. I would have gladly accepted a return and refunded your money. In the description, it says the belt and buckle are thin. I don't know what the smell is, but I suppose it's the factory smell, as I store my things in an indoor storage facility, not at home. Again, I'm sorry. Is there anything that I can do to make it better?
