Velvet is a type of woven tufted fabric in which the cut threads are evenly distributed, with a short dense pile, giving it a distinctive soft feel. Velvet can be made from either synthetic or natural fibers. PLEASE feel free to contact myself (other sellers in the future), with any questions! 👍

georgetimothy Hi Irene. The measurement from armpit to armpit is 20". The waist is a drop waist, so you would not wear a belt with it. Although there are belt loops, I would say they are intended for design. The belted area measures 21" across. From armpit to hem is 24" in length. I hope that helps you.

It was listed as such when I bought it and I had recorded it in my notebook as silk, but when I went to mail it and double check, that part of the label was missing. I had never given it any thought because I got it for my daughter and she didn't like it. In hind sight I was wrong for not letting you know before mailing it.
