gasconi the rope bag is made of canvas (more of a cotton) no water protection. the rope sing is 100% polyester. This is from the Kavu site: The Rope Sling fits the body like a bag should. It's similar in size and design to its fraternal twin the KAVU Rope Bag with one exception: the Rope Sling is made of polyester, making it water resistant.
