I’ll get a male occasionally but they’ve got nice closets and may share something and I’ll share glasses in return. What turns me off is how many women are selling so many suggestive garments. I’d really like to avoid those because they can’t be interested in a thing I have. I also see a lot of knock offs being sold. I thought that was against PM policy.

They just say they're assuring me an algorithm is being used to create appropriate matches!!!! As if these men seeking what I'll call "mall clothes" made in China would want my thirty-year-old Marimekko shirts etc. In desperation I removed all of my men's items, which were lovely. I don't know what to say, truly.

I continue to receive disturbing imagery that is violent, scatalogical, racist etc., including swastikas (twice today), and other random, highly provocative symbols. There has been no action from PM. I ❤️ finding the creative/rare/wonderful, but by continuing to participate, am I supporting a system that is laissez faire about such matters? I am truly, deeply upset. ❤️❤️❤️

Some even share computer shortcuts for sharing many closets quickly. It depends on what u prefer I guess - if u enjoy shopping your feed & want it “curated” then be selective.

momoretro @jackierct I’m sorry! Yeah I haven’t listed anything for Months - my daughter graduated from college in May and while helping her move I filled a thredup bag and walked it out and handed it to the mailman - so avoided a trip to goodwill. Thredup bought 9 of her things and paid $13 😧

momoretro I’m not an economist but what seems to be happening is massive increase in sellers has driven prices down - Posh makes more and sellers make same or less — many sellers are overpricing things to compensate for the lowballing — so I see things with flaws being sold for way more than they should or things a consignment shop would never take

I’ve basically been selling things for what people offer as I do think we will start to think about downsizing in the near future,,,,,there are a few things I have gotten lowballs on and I have countered and that’s it. So current climate encourages a “take it or leave it” attitude

momoretro @jackierct I would consider it especially for high value pieces that are under recognized here — like mekko - or even woolovers — you can set a firm price - some find allowing returns is helpful but I just don’t have the time - I’ve allowed returns twice and it was a PIA. I shop on eBay when I am looking for hard to find things ...I set a search ...so I think you might find a market for certain things

momoretro @jackierct funny story - years ago I sold a few vintage pieces on ET-y and as a seller when they had a public offering they insisted that sellers be offered a chance to buy shares ....I love the site so much I bought 20 shares at $16 each. The 2nd day it plummeted and my family laughed at me. Now it’s a “hot” stock. I know nothing about stocks and this is the only one I own.

yuansource Yes I completely understand. It’s also a way for me to supplement my income since I am semi retired. I’ve sold over 450 items. So it’s a little extra income now and then and I’m trying to really get better at it. I think it’s all in the pictures that’s the difference some of these people have really great professional looking sites
