tcat3 Hi!!!’ I’m not sure what the smell maybe. I put it in a plastic bag, so maybe that’s it. As far as the box, I apologize. I recycle everything I can. I hope your not too upset by the box. I just figure it’s better to recycle then use a new box everytime. It was not in bad shape when I sent it. It was not smashed or squishy. Maybe it got manhandled in transit. Thanks again. Tcat3
