rdg126 @lolalue oh, I have a 20 pounder too! He's 12 and the vet says he is in perfect shape. I think he's huge, but that's because I can't hold him too long.

lolalue @rdg126 Lol!! Vet said same thing about Piper... I have another adoptee, Baxter who is almost 15 & weighs about 13 lbs. All he wants is some peace however Piper wants to play and can bully him... Bax has arthritis in back legs so not as quick... then other times they are best buddies. Love them both .😺

sknoesel @lolalue he finishes his freshman year this month - lives in the new dorm and is in ACES program- he loves it. I was nervous sending him so far away but he really really loves it. He will be home for about 2 weeks and then goes back for an internship

lolalue @t22kay Have a lot of friends & family who went there, they all liked it... quite a trip from Texas!!! We live about 90 minutes away at a beach town. It’s hot in Del in the summers, 90’s. Usually Only gets really cold Dec-March. Hope he likes it! Lolalue

t22kay @lolalue thanks! My son is really interested in continuing his music interests(marching band, jazz band) but not as a music major. Univ of DE seems to encourage that.

lolalue @t22kay If he ends up going to U of D, there is a wonderful annual Jazz Fest in Rehoboth Beach-(about 1 1/2 hrs south of UofD) it’s either in Oct or early Nov. it’s a huge deal and they get some pretty good talent. Have to buy tickets in advance.

t22kay @lolalue wow! That’s sounds great! He would love that. He just got back from 2 weeks touring Europe with a High school band(not jazz) group. This whole “college finding” task is a bit daunting so it’s nice to hear about the areas he’s considering especially since we live so far away. 😊 My oldest son went to Texas Tech, in the same state and only a 30 min plane flight.

lolalue @t22kay #2 if you make the trip to Newark try to visit Rehoboth Beach also.... it’s a great beach town with wonderful restaurants...lots of fun entertainment in fall & spring. Packed in summer since a beach town.... people from D.C. & lots of college kids work there in summer. Lewes ( where we live) is also a great beach town w/ good restaurants & a gorgeous state park on the ocean w/ bike trails & also a fun place to check out.

t22kay @lolalue Thank you so much! We have 2 days in Newark and the college tour is only a couple hours so we will definitely check out the places you recommend. We aren’t familiar with that area at all. I’ve lived in Austin, Tx for almost 40 years. Now I’m really looking forward to this trip!
