I read that you’re a bartender - my Pops was a chef but most recently, in his retirement, he was a bartender. Tended bar at MCC & Maui Nui! He passed away last year. barefootmuse @kahiko_kolohe The MACC is a beautiful place and I’m sure you had amazing experiences while working there. I love upcountry. My Dad’s (RIL) had a small lil “snack shack” called Paniolo’s in Pulalani. I’m not sure how long you’ve been there but do you remember Henry’s Bar & Grill by any chance (near kam 3 I think). It’s been long gone but was THE place to hang back in the day. My Mom and Dad also started and ran the kitchen and bar in there. Good times. Miss it for sure. Much aloha!

kahiko_kolohe @barefootmuse I remember a guy named Eddie who used to run the kitchen, but this was more towards the end of Henry’s existence, like 2008-9. I used to frequent Hapa’s which was nearby. Henry’s had the bar stools with the regulars’ names on them 😂 garanz Your dad must’ve known Auntie Ruth DeCoite, she used to run the restaurant at the Pukalani golf course.

He actually rescued a Muskovy duck and he brought it home and I’ll never forget that he put it in our basement shower so that it could stay wet I don’t really remember what he did with it after that but we had a lot of fun with that duck anyway stop by my closet.
