kattsclosett HA, I spent some "interesting in Corozal. Basically stranded there with no money as I did not realize my wallet was stolen coming from Campeche, Campeche until I was over the border!. That jetty and I became good friends. I remember there was a guy at the marcado that had the best coffee. I spent about 4 months in P.G and quite a bit of time in Orange Walk...

purrydaze @staga I've carried these bags so much, that they are looking "used" LOL! I wipe them gently with vitamin e oil if they get stiff. I live in a hot humid climate, (Belize) so they have done well. When I lived in AZ they would dry out.

staga @purrydaze Awww... maybe I should let the buyer know these neat tips. The Anuschkas that I have listed come from a sweet woman’s home who passed away after a long illness. Her collection was fabulous and drool worthy, I’ve kept a lot of them though they have a lot of wear because of the backstory of where and how they were used. The ones on sale are nearly never used but she really didn’t have the energy to store and maintain appropriately.

aimeekitten Saw your comments on someone's Socofy shoe listing, saying you own several in EUR39US8. I'm trying to pick what size boot to order in (magenta/orange). Wondering if you wear 8 in US-brand shoes..& if you typically size up for boots. I wear 7shoe, but sizeDown to 6.5 sandals & Up to 8boots. Have bunions & must also choose styles w/enough front width. Hoping you can give insight: do Socofys run small or large? I'd be very grateful for guidance before I place order to ship from Asia.

purrydaze @aimeekitten Hi there! Yes, I love these shoes. I wear a size 8 in US sizes, and always order a size 39 or size 8. I only size up in a boot if they have no zip and are calf height. I do size down to a 7.5 or 38 in a sandal. I have found all three of my Socofy's have been a good fit. You might find some on Ebay that are already in the USA. I have an ankle boot, a flat, and a sandal. My sandal is 38, or 7.5 US, and the flat and bootie are 39's, or 8's. So, yes, true to size.

kjeffries68 @purrydaze Thanks! I bought that at a craft fair. The woman who makes them gives all of her proceeds to cancer research. She started making them way before they became popular. She said she would look at the ground after her husband would shoot and think "I know I can recycle these somehow to make jewelry" and that's what she came up with. Every color bead she used went toward a different type of research. Yours is for breast cancer. I bought in memory of my grandma.

My friend here in Belize, Linda, had both breasts removed last year, and has suffered terribly with the chemo and radiation. How proud I will be to wear that! I have a sister back there and one of my daughters. We are considering a move, but it will be a year or two. Hopefully I will be here next year when you visit! Do you know where you'll be staying? Would be fun to meet up for a bit! My home in the UK was Cambridge, . I was married to an American for 8 years so got my citizenship in US.

purrydaze @kjeffries68 With retirement came a lack of funds to live well in the USA. Our house was paid for so we decided to look for a less expensive place to live. Belize is close to the USA, reasonably cheap, and they speak English! Nigel felt a calling to do something for the church, so we came to help the local Anglicans.

We're actually going on a cruise and will be in Belize 1 day. I'll find out the day and let you know and maybe you could recommend a good spot to have lunch and meet us there! It will be the week of Oct 5th-11. I'll have to find out exactly where the ship docks. My sister set it up, so I don't have all the details yet.

purrydaze @kjeffries68 All the ships dock in Belize City, the only port with enough depth. There are fabulous day trips you should take. The cruise director will offer river trips to Lamanaii...LOVE that one! The river has so much wild life and birds, crocs, monkeys you can pet, (take bananas!), and the ruins are awesome! Then there is ziplining, cave tubing, the baboon sanctuary....even just a pony cart round the city is fun!

kjeffries68 @purrydaze I certainly won't be able to do 2 day trips. I have an autoimmune disease called mixed connective tissue disease that makes its pretty hard for me to do too much activity in one day. Luckily I have a lot of family and friends going on the trip in case I get too sick to do a whole lot. I have an 11 year old and 13 year old daughter so my family will take over if I get too tired and need a break. But I have to eat, so will definitely try to make some time for lunch when we're there. 🙂

purrydaze @kjeffries68 Oh, my goodness! And I thought I had health problems. That sounds awful...I've heard of it, but in my nursing career, I never saw or treated it. I know there's no cure, but you must have a lot of pain....how wonderful that you have so much support from your family. I do as well, although Nigel is quite frail now with congestive heart failure and a recent heart attack. My prayers go with you. Gentle hugs!

kjeffries68 @purrydaze oh wow that's a lot for your husband to deal with. It's nice that he continues working. Yeah my disease is painful. Some days worse than others. But I'm used to it. I'll probably get on steroids for the cruise. That's when I gave up high heels. I found it too painful to walk in them. You go girl for still wearing them! I would if I could!

purrydaze @kjeffries68 4 years ago, I was unable to walk more than a few feet....then I found a surgeon who agreed to fix my spine, after five denied me. It gave me a new lease on life, along with my cataract surgery, triple bypass and I celebrated by getting 8 tattoos, LOL! Crazy, huh! Actually, I'm thinking of having a zipper tattooed up my cardiac surgery scar, LOL! My half sister, Annie has MS, so we have to watch her as well. She still lives in Massachusetts.

Cools off a kittle December thru February, but still warm enough to swim!my shipping agent and his wife check all my items for me, and call me on Skype when they receive an item, so I can check it out. purrydaze @nadianbailey OH MY GOSH!!!! I do remember, and I still wear them! Placencia is about the only place with a beach, apart from the islands. I actually live in the very north, in Corozal, which is about 12 miles from the Mexican border. We don't have much of a beach here, but we can swim off the sea wall. I have an above ground pool, so am happy with that. However, being so far away will make it hard to meet up.

Being so close to the Mexican border (Wal-Mart, Sam's, etc.) is enticing to us! Property there is also less expensive than some. We can't even touch Ambergris Caye and Caye Caulker now!
