Hi! I'm Jennifer. Most of my closet if focused on vintage Louis Vuitton. I have straps of all styles for your repair needs. Don’t see what you need, just ask! Not everything is stamped or marked as LV. Because of my source for these straps, they can only ever be absolutely authentic. I do replace the clasps as most of these have been removed from older bags. If you ever have questions or need help authenticating any bag on Posh, please let me know!

madlondon @eginnys hi! I’m assuming your hardware is the older style brass? I like that, you can actually polish it rather than gold tone that just loses its color. If it’s brass, u can get really nice heavy brass clasps at Home Depot/Lowe’s where they copy keys. I’m not sure that LV had any detachable straps during the brass era. If you wanted to have this permanently attached I can swap out some original hardware for these clasps but you’d need to take it to a cobbler to have him attach it permanently.

I just double checked against my small speedy and I don’t think you can go wrong with any of them that I have currently listed. 42” is the shortest length I’d suggest. The good thing about these straps is they are adjustable so she can make it shorter if she’d like. It’s really the patina you’ll need to decide on😉

madlondon @jennifer6118 hi! I really don’t. I have lots of old leather straps if you are ever interested in that but no canvas. There was a gal on m e r_c that had an old mini Speedy that she cut the ends off of and was selling for around 25. You more get also keep your eye out for the plethora of fakes just to test out your idea. I’ll tag you if I ever see anything. Good luck!

madlondon @rovietorres hi! I don’t make any repairs myself however I can tell you that any local cobbler should be able to fix it for you. I assume your Strap has broken at the base correct? The closest river can be removed and the strap tucked under a bit. You’ll lose the LV rivet on that side and a little length in the strap but the repair will most likely be under $20.

madlondon @aeefit yes, I have several options that could work for the galleria. Because of how the original strap is attached it would probably be best to either purchase one that has no clasps and have a cobbler reattached or use a strap with clasps like I have listed. You’ll lose the original rivets that hold the strap now. I have lots of different patinas.

lamango1969 Hi Jen, I just purchased your leather/ suede drawstring for my petit noe about a week ago and is there a reason why each time I use the drawstring to loosen or close the purse, shavings of the strap falls everywhere leaving a little mess? Are these dried out too much? Can I rub something over them to not fall apart?

madlondon @tassibell interestingly enough I might have it. I have two saumur straps but I don’t have the bag to compare the measurements. Can you send the measure in between the two rivers on the underside of the bag? From one side to the other, just measure that part. If you need a better description let me know

madlondon @lamango1969 hi! This was a strange design for LV. The underside on even most of the more recent straps was not finished leaving it a raw edge. A good dose of conditioner may help limit the fringing. Unfortunately this was the design. I have only ever seen one that was finished on both sides but honestly I have my doubts it was authentic. There’s another product but at the moment I can’t think of it. I want to say mink oil?

madlondon @amcbienvenu ok, I hate to ruin it for you but please let me help you authenticate this before you accept it. The first few pics are not of the bag you will be receiving. The last few are of the bag that you purchased but the lining is different. As far as I can think LV doesn’t use this suede like interior. Fakes do a lot though.

madlondon @amcbienvenu I have done the same thing. Prada is my Achilles heel. Those are faked so often but Prada isn’t as consistent with their marks. Makes it harder to tell in pics. I just looked at the other things in her closet. It doesn’t add up😐

madlondon @amcbienvenu if you buy vintage Louis Vuitton you will eventually find your way back to me. The date code is a series of letters and numbers the first two letters indicate the country in which it was created the last four indicate the year and the week number that it was made. So take a number like SB0917. The The first and the third number indicate the week the second and the fourth number indicate the year.

madlondon @sisidel there’s usually a rivet (gold button) that holds it on to the zipper car. I have one from a speedy but you’d need to go to a cobbler to have them reattach it. Simple fix, they shouldn’t charge you more than $7. If you can, post a listing for your bag so I can see exactly what we are dealing with. Just put a crazy price so no one purchases
