theivydoor I am sorry that your black formal dress you purchased does not fit like a size 10. everyones body dimensions are different depending on age, things shift, but I can only go by what the dress tag says and I would just suggest in the future that you ask for specific measurements in different areas like chest and length, etc. Again, so sorry
