baysyde Thank you again for all the information on the Simon Brothers thimble. I am fascinated by your knowledge on this item and would welcome you thoughts on what it’s actual value is. The $450 price I set was based on a friend (who owns a local jewelry store and sells some estate pieces). His recommendation was based strictly on the intricate detail, age when purchased and gold weight. My guess is that you know far more. Many thanks.

harjodunk @baysyde I don’t use Poshmark much so I didn’t see this. I posted addition info on the thimble’s page. I will communicate this way from now on. Unfortunately there is not anything else that I am interested in so a bundle isn’t an option.

baysyde I do appreciate all the helpful information. I declined your offer because it is essentially what I would get if I sold the Thimble for its gold weight to a dealer. Based on what you have shared, I will be reducing my asking price, but will hold on to it unless I get an offer that is close. Foolishly, I declined an offer of $275 several weeks ago. baysyde @harjodunk I do not see any visible damage, inside or out. For decades, it has been stored in a pouch and kept in a padded box. But you are the collector with expertise. I would be happy to take some additional photos in natural light (sunlight) in the morning if you can be a bit more specific as to what exactly you need to see.

harjodunk @baysyde hi, thanks for the additional pictures. It appears that there is a hole or two on the sides of the thimble. If that is the case, it greatly affects the value.
