rachelclothing @lynnbeckylynn I make these clothes myself, here in the U.S.A.. They have the required clothing tags per federal regulations. I may upcycle some stuff but most of it is designed and made by me. My question: Does 'handmade" from new cloth qualify as boutique clothing?

rachelclothing @girlloves2shop I got into sewing after I took my girlfriend to buy her a dress. I was shocked at the quality of the clothing. The next day I bought a sewing machine and tried to learn garment sewing. It was hard. Luckily, I met a woman who was a former sewing instructor at Parsons. I took lessons from her for about 3 years. How many people get gifted with that opportunity? It's one thing to get sewing instruction. It is quite another to be guided by the sure instincts of a great master.

lynnbeckylynn @rachelclothing Good Morning, sorry but we don't have a definite answer to that one. Some people list homemade items as Boutique but the poshmark rules indicate ..items purchased wholesale with tags. We suggest you contact Poshmark with your question.

rachelclothing @sunnimoments I do draft my own patterns. Commercial sewing patterns (Simplicity, McCalls, Butterick, etc) have too much ease in them to be of any use for ready to wear (RTW). Besides, the pattern companies prohibit manufacture from their patterns. All my clothes have sewn in labels stating fiber content and washing instructions. After I draft and grade a new dress, I ask a woman to try on the initial production version.

rachelclothing I test all my fusible interfacing by washing it. I use a steam press to fuse the interfacing. On higher end dresses, the interfacing (underlining) is sewn in. I use woven interfacing. No Pellon goes in any of my clothes. I grade most interior seams, which is something you will not find in RTW.

Especially vintage Levi's. Thats my main gig. Great clothes I really love the B&W dress but I see unfortunately you don't make them for plus size 14s?
