jrbenefield @meowma706 Thank you so much. Your closet looks great! I love sharing other people’s items, and I use it for research. I do think a mannequin helps with sales, as it gives 3 dimensionality. In regards to sharing, Posh allows you to share your own items 8k to 9k x daily, which is a LOT, but after that, they will put you in “share jail”. I am not sure about sharing others’ items, though. Again, thank you very much, and if you have more questions, shoot. I wish you fast and abundant sales!

jrbenefield @meowma706 Yes. I think Posh is a great platform for vintage. There are others, too! You don’t have to just put your eggs in one basket. There are a lot of baskets! But Poshmark is my go-to, my favorite, as I generate a lot of sales here.

lindarug thank you for all the shares I have a question if you wouldn't mind. when a Posher shares an item from another Poshers closet to their followers where do they see it? I see in my news feed that you shared. Do you see in your news feed when items are shared?

jrbenefield @lindarug Hello. When I share your item, it appears in my newsfeed, which can be seen by all the Poshers who follow me. My followers can follow you or make a purchase from you. The more shares you get and give the more eyes that see your listings and visit your closet. It’s a form of teamwork that’s mutually beneficial, imho. It casts a larger net that multiples.

jrbenefield @lindarug I have another motive for sharing: I learn about brands and items I did not know beforehand, so I can recognize it as profitable, when I see it “out in the wild”. Plus, I learn new keywords and phraseology I did not know. For me, it is a win, win, win.

It shows that you’re active, too, and buyers want to know their sellers are actively selling and shipping. When they see “active this hour”, I think it gives more confidence to buy from you. lindarug Happy Friday. How long has it taken you to sell items on a weekly basis? Also I'm finding some buyers don't leave a rating. Do you ever reach out for the rating?

jrbenefield @lindarug Happy Friday. It takes a little while to get established. I had the luxury of having 700+ listings to cross post when I started on Posh, so I made sales on a weekly basis pretty quickly. When I became a Posh Ambassador, the sales became more frequent, as it showed that I sold quality products, shipped quickly, and could be trusted. The more you list and share your closet is directly related to your sales.

jrbenefield @lindarug As far as feedback, I don’t reach out to buyers to prompt feedback scores; I think 60% of items I sell receive feedback, which may sound low, but is SUPER impressive compared to other online sites. Some sellers do reach out in a soft, friendly way. I think either way is fine. I don’t want a buyer to feel pressured, and there is a line you need to tiptoe, as Posh doesn’t want buyers to feel overwhelmed.

jrbenefield @lindarug And you have to remember some buyers hop on, buy an item, and then may not log back on until they are looking for something else to purchase. I would say listing at least one thing a day, sharing your closet as often as you can, and following and get followers are the three most important things I can do to get the most exposure. jrbenefield @lindarug One last thing: It is summertime, and sales are slower during the summer. The busiest time of the year is fall and the holidays. Having Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas items stocked is a very good idea. Don’t lose heart, though. If you list good, quality items consistently, you will make sales, I promise! jrbenefield @tiamat4040 I have noticed a slow down on Posh recently. I didn’t correlate, but you could be right about live shows. Posh opened the beta testing to many sellers who did not have access initially. I added my name to a waitlist a couple of weeks ago, but I was told it might be four months. Yesterday I receive a message saying if I attend a coffee show, it would speed up the wait. Are the live shows something that interests you at all?

I had a posh room when I had my house but now I'm in a one bedroom apartment and I have posh stuff mostly in my walk in closet in my bedroom but my home good pieces are in every draw and cabinet. Plus I don't have things that I would want to start at $8. I was thinking of cross listing

jrbenefield @tiamat4040 I certainly recommend the latter! I’ve watched some shows to get an idea, and what I’ve seen is different sellers selling the same stuff, oversimplification, I’m sure. I know you sell a lot of cool, different items that might be a refreshing to buyers. I think men’s clothes are underrepresented in the live shows, so I’d start there. I did what not, but it was a lot of work for little reward.

jrbenefield @tiamat4040 It is an easy one to use but much slower than here. But the little e one is a bigger pond with more fish. For me, putting my eggs in more baskets works well. For example, I know it’s been slower here, but I haven’t noticed it nearly as much.

jrbenefield @tiamat4040 I haven’t heard of OneShop. I’ll have to look into it. I used List Perfectly for a couple of months, but it was expensive and I coined it “List Imperfectly”. I know others have a lot of success with LP, but I did not. My huahua has a HUGE personality inside that little body! Congratulations on your sales! And I wish you many, many, many more! 😊

I've been on here since 2014 and I still can't figure it out...but im not that tech savvy..lol. Im in the far eastern suburbs of Cleveland so of course I wont be seeing any sunshine for a while 🙄

jrbenefield @nancy1166 Hey there. I use an app called PhotoRoom. It’s available on the App Store for iPhone and it’s available for android. I pay for a subscription, but they do have a free version. With the free version, I think they limit the number of photos you can edit at a time. And with the free version, they remove your backgrounds, of course, but they stamp “PhotoRoom” at the bottom of the background. You get the free tool and they get the advertisement. Happy New Year!
