Following other closets builds your network - you can follow people a variety of different ways - new people, by brand, by your size, etc. You can also click into a closet and follow those they follow and their followers too. Sharing is all about outreach to your followers and those that follow you. The bigger your following, the more outreach. Then others will share your items and it reaches their followers, which should increase your sales.

I "edit-next-list" each item I have for sale 3-5 times per day (sometimes I share at parties and other times is just throughout the day when I have time).
