towersmiller1 bowl arrived and i'm really bummed to say that it was broken - box was intact, and labeled fragile, but packing inside was somewhat loose (plastic bags and a few packing peanuts), and the thin single layer of packing envelope was mis-shapen, with lots of pottery pieces inside. especially heartbreaking bec we have others that it would have nested nicely with. i've reported this to support, but have not been able to file a claim yet bec i'm a new buyer and it has not shown up in my profile.

ohvintagebuckey @towersmiller1 Hi there! I don’t think it had anything to do with the packing material but I could be wrong. Unfortunately the unseasonably cold weather we are having, if the item is cold and the item comes into a warm house, it can cause these very old pottery and ceramic pieces to crack /expand and to pretty much explode. I’ve been shipping items for over 10 years and have never had any issue.

ohvintagebuckey Please make sure to report it to POSH as they certainly will refund you. Sorry about all of this. Sad a piece of antique history is gone.

towersmiller1 thx for your note - so bummed about it - certainly wasn't blaming the packing - i've never seen a bowl crack or break just by moving them indoors, but it's totally possible. i DID notify POSH, but my account isn't showing the purchase, so wanted you to know just in case you get payment in advance of sorting this out. agreed - it's a bummer to lose a beautiful old piece. i guess they may want me to send it back to you - should i do so if told to do it? i'll take pics of the packaging and bowl

ohvintagebuckey @towersmiller1 I would wait to see what Posh wants us to do. Most likely throw item away. Take a lot of pictures as I’m sure USPS will want to see them but most likely Posh will ask for those. Hang tight and let’s see what Posh says. Luckily with priority Mail there is insurance to protect both of us. :) Again— sorry about all of this. This guy sat in our kitchen for the first 6 years of owning our house. We’re so sad

ohvintagebuckey @towersmiller1 Just received this from Posh. “We are reaching out to you regarding your recent sale, "Vintage 1940’s ribbed beehive pottery bowl Green turquoise". The buyer reported that the package was damaged in transit. Therefore, we have processed this as a lost package and will be compensating both sides.” All is good.

towersmiller1 thx for your note - i was notified about a refund too, but was concerned about whether you would come out OK, so, yes, all good. obviously, still bummed. my research tells me that these are likely Weller (utility ware) (vs Bauer), so possibly more abundant in Ohio - would certainly appreciate hearing if you run across another one and would be willing to sell it - pls let me know if you list any in the future (would have to consider how to ship it). thx
